An evening at 'The Kabab Studio', Goldfinch Hotels, Bangalore

Setting the criteria for serving the best Kababs in town is not an easy task when there are enough restaurants that do the same. The Kabab Studio, Goldfinch Hotels located off Race course road is a refreshing change from the regular 'live-grill' places. What makes them different from others are their best quality food, unlimited variety of food they serve, excellent ambience with separate dining area for business events, Molecular cocktails with beautiful presentation, courteous staffs, and the way they make their customers say 'wow' for the experience at The Kabab Studio.

Buffet price starts from Rs.575+ which includes soups, starters (4 veg and 4 non-veg), chaats, salads, Main course contains Indian, Continental, and Chinese dishes, variety of desserts including live ice cream counter. We had few interesting cocktails which was creatively made and presented infront of us. If 'Tedhi Medhi Martini' was served in a conical glass, then Pina Colada was served in a feeding bottle. There was another cocktail 'TKS OK' which was served in a lantern. TKS's super efficient staffs, Abhinav Varma and Neeraj Sharma were really helpful in selecting the cocktails. 'The last tea' was served hot in small glasses, which was more like a sulaimani tea with alcohol content in it.

Something unique about this place is that they have separate skewers for grilling; Teal blue color handle skewers for vegetarian items and Red color handle skewers for non-vegetarian items. Same color code for the casseroles in which they serve the main. We had variety of starters and everything was cooked to perfection and served with a smiling face. There were 6 varieties of accompaniments for the starters. Don't miss the unique and one of their signature dish 'Kulfi Chicken', something which I have seen only in Rocky & Mayur's show, Highway on my plate. I thought it's a regional specialty which is available in Delhi area. Thanks to TKS for an extra ordinary experience. As expected Kulfi Chicken was wonderfully done dish which was more on a sweeter side, but I enjoyed the taste of Kulfi in Chicken.

By the time we finished our gupshup and yummy starters my tummy was full, so I tried very few dishes from the main course- Hakka Noodles, Hunan Prawns, and some Donne biriyani. Oh yeah! that was my first Donne biriyani and I just loved it along with other main course. I heard more details about the famous Donne biriyani from my foodie buddy, Hari Camala. Assorted Indian breads like Rotis, kulcha and Naans were served in a cute little truck. Truck was damn cute and the rotis were crisp and tasty.

There is always room for desserts and when they have Teppanyaki ice cream counter, how can we say no to it. Ice cream served was Butterscotch flavored with lots of toppings like dry fruits, fresh berries, gems chocolate, choco chips, tutty fruity, and chocolate sauce. I love all the toppings they used, so this ice cream was a winner for me.

Before leaving the restaurant, don't miss the smokey 'Jala hua paan' which will soothe your throat with strong clove flavor. Almost an year back few of my foodie friends kept a meetup here after screening many other restaurants. Unfortunately I couldn't attend that one and always wanted to visit this restaurant every since I heard about their food and the service. So when my friend Neel, who is associated with Goldfinch Hotels invited couple of close friends for an evening to chill, we all were so happy. My friendship with Neel started few months ago and he has always given me freedom to share my honest opinion. I respect him for that reason.

If you are looking for a special dining experience with your loved ones then this is the place you must visit. The view from the roof-top dining area is amazing. As this restaurant is located in the other part of the town (West Bangalore), it has become a popular choice for Sandalwood actors. So if you are lucky, you will see a celebrity dining next to you when you are at this restaurant. If you are looking for fine-dining experience then in ground floor you can visit 'Sana-di-ge' which serves Mangalorean food. Recently they've launched in Delhi and already became a favorite among Delhi socialites. Next on my list to try is Sanadige, Bangalore.
