Enjoy a 15-course meal at Maziga, VR Bengaluru!

Maziga at VR Bengaluru is popular for its 15-course fine dining experience. I was here recently to experience the same. Maziga celebrates Modern Indian cuisine. They have a humungous range of dishes in the 'a la carte' menu, and if you want to experience something extraordinary then must-try their 15-course meal, which is a journey through popular Indian dishes. This is available only on prior booking (min 24 hours in advance).

The ambiance is created to suit the Modern Indian cuisine concept, so one can enjoy a relaxed meal with a glass of wine or an interesting cocktail.

This experience was first time for me and I enjoyed it fully. Chef Javed Ahamed has brilliantly put together the essence of Indian dishes along with globally famous dishes. The classic take on our National food, Khichdi in the form of Risotto was truly a wonderful dish. As I am not a fan of liver/brain, I replaced the dishes with vegetarian dishes like Veg Cheese ball and Veg pav topped with Orange glaze. Their style of plating and presentation was great. The flavored yogurts enhanced the taste of delectable dishes served.

The Edamame and green peas soup was light and delicious. The stuffed Lamb Kulcha was one of my favorite dishes. The Malvani Prawns served with Charcoal lentil pancake is something you should not miss at Maziga. The Quinoa Upma and Smoked Codfish served on a bed of Kaffir lime sauce was the perfect pairing with my red wine.

The dessert options had Thandai Panna Cotta and Turmeric Kulfi and the luscious flavors will quickly melt-in-your mouth.

Overall I enjoyed the evening at Maziga. The service was quick and the staffs were very polite. The 15-course menu is priced at INR 2200 + taxes.

New place alert - Merak at JW Marriott Hotel, Bengaluru!

Indulge in an uber classy lounge experience at the newly opened Merak at JW Marriott Hotel. Partnered with Corona, Merak is located at Level H, and this beautiful pool facing rooftop space is perfect for groovy parties. This smart casual space is created for a one-of-a-kind experience with custom made swings, elegant and modern decor with a tropical forest scenery touch to it.

Love this touch of green on every table <3

Beautiful roof <3

Merak has a different meaning in different languages; it means 'Enjoyment of simple things in life' in Croatian and 'feeling of bliss' in Serbian and  'Wonder' in Turkish. Merak in JW Marriott makes you feel the same with its beautiful ambiance and excellent grub; truly a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Lobster love :)

The menu is very sophistically designed with selected dishes which goes well their amazing drinks. I loved their Naga Chilli Mushroom, Cantonese style Lobster, Not the Usual Bhel (Bhel with Thai herbs and crispy Chicken), Kheema aur Bun Maska, Duck Spring Roll, and Katsu style Bean curd. In a few dishes, Chef successfully blended Indian and Asian flavors.

From the Signature Merak drinks, I enjoyed every sip of 'Midnight Bloom' - a Gin based cocktail with Passion fruit, White Chocolate Syrup, Edible Charcoal, and Egg white). I love Corona Beer and they have a dedicated Corona counter for beer lovers.

When it comes to hospitality, team JW Marriott never disappoints their patrons. The staffs were very sweet, polite and attentive. I enjoyed the time spent at this new place and its a perfect place to take your special person for a date as well as for sundowner parties with your friends. A meal for two would be INR 2000/- (approximately).

Thanks a lot team Encomium PR, and JW Marriott staffs for having me over <3

Dim sums, Sushi and whole lot of modern Pan Asian spread at You Mee, Forum Shantiniketan, Bengaluru!

As we all are ready to say goodbye to 2019, I am happy to visit a restaurant that was in my bucket list for quite some time. It’s You Mee at Forum Shantiniketan, Whitefield. You Mee serves amazing Pan Asian food which includes Japanese, Thai, and Chinese cuisines. The main highlight is that the restaurant is on the ground floor and not in the Mall’s food court. You Mee is an ideal restaurant to enjoy a relaxed meal after a movie or tiring shopping.

The look of this restaurant is very impressive and I just loved the Manga art all over the wall. The modern take on the food menu will surely fix any palate. For Bengaluru's current weather, a piping hot soup is a must. I tried their Misu soup and it was nice.

You Mee's selection of Sushi and Dim sums are excellent. The 'Classic Prawns Har Gow' and 'New York Cheese and Chili oil' Dim sums were sublime. The creamy and crunchy deliciousness comes in the form of   Sushi - 'Godzilla Roll', 'Prawns Tempura' and 'Avacado, Mango, and Black Rice' sushis were so good. The five-spiced 'Chicken Star Anise with crispy Horenso (Spinach)' will simply blow your mind.

If Ramen is your go-to food, then check out their ongoing Ramen Food Festival. A bowl full of noodles, veggies, slow-cooked/braised meat simmered on a flavorful broth with a topping of boiled egg, fried garlic, a sprinkle of chili flakes and a dash of soy sauce is all you need in this weather.

From the Main course selection, I enjoyed Kung Pao Chicken which is an all-time favorite dish of mine, along with Chili Bean Fish Fillet served with Sticky rice.

My drink of the evening was ‘Strawberry & Champagne’ mocktail. The server suggested this drink and it was a very refreshing one.

I really appreciate the dessert options available at You Mee. We tried the Vietnamese Halo Halo Sundae, Japanese Dorayaki, and Yuzu Lemon Tart. The Yuzu tart and Halo Halo dessert didn't really match up to our expectations. The Dorayaki was good.

It was lovely meeting Celebrity Chef Shazia Khan whom I admire a lot.

The lovely host Raunak and his sister <3
Overall, I enjoyed my first visit to You Mee and would love to visit again for yet another pleasant experience. A meal for two would be INR 2000/- (approximately).
