A Wazwan experience at Parsa's, Koramangala!

Kashmiri cuisine is one of the most amazing cuisines. The flavors are just as exquisite as its valleys. Wazwan is an inevitable part of Kashmiri food culture. At least once in a lifetime, one should experience a Wazwan. Typically Wazwan dishes will be of up to 36 dishes. The food served in Trami is served in groups of four.

Do you really need to spend all your hard-earned money on a Kashmir trip to experience Wazwan? Not really, as Bengaluru has few options for the same. Recently I visited Parsa's in Koramangala, which is located at Jyoti Nivas College Road. The moment you enter this beautiful restaurant, you will see some beautiful images from the valley. The staff from Kashmir welcomes the guests in their traditional way by offering water in Tasht-Nari for handwash. I felt so regal with this welcome.

Once you place an order, they will take 20+ mins to get the trami and it is worth all the wait. The trami had Rice, Seekh Kebab, Methi Maaz, Tabakh Maaz, Waza Chicken, Ristha, Rogan Josh, Aab Gosht, Mirchi Korma, Gushtaba. The dishes were mind blowingly amazing, but my favorite has to be the Aab Gosht (mildly flavored meat cooked in milk gravy with flavors of cardamom, fennel, and other spices), Methi Maaz(super rich gravy made of minced lamb intestine and fresh fenugreek), Rogan Josh, and Gushtaba (this dish is eaten towards the end of the meal and it is made of meatballs cooked in a yogurt based aromatic gravy).

Throughout the meal, I kept on sipping rich and aromatic Kashmiri Kehwa tea topped with almond shavings. Another interesting drink to try is their  Noon Chai (salty tea), and I must say this can't be everyone's cup of tea, it is an acquired taste :P

For desserts, I tried Phirni and told the staff that it was one of the best Phirni I had in Bengaluru. The dessert had the right amount of sweetness and an added richness came from the topped Poppy seeds and dry fruits.

I went into a food coma after trying all these. They have trami for 2 or 4 people. Their selective menu has impressive dishes and the main highlight is pocket-friendly pricing. I hope they introduce Kashmiri breads to their menu soon. I am definitely gonna visit again for the same experience.

Enjoy Vinyl music, food and craft beer at the newly opened Record Room, Bengaluru!

If you are a 90s kid(or before that), then Vinyl records will be still an exciting thing for you. I always used to wonder how they even record the music on Vinyl disks. Thanks to Google and Youtube, we get all the answers there, but what's the fun without experiencing it? Recently I visited Record Room at Ashok Nagar (Opp Garuda Mall) and had the most amazing music experience along with some great munchies and craft beer. The owners of this place are truly Discophiles, the passion for their Vinyl records can be experienced fully here. They have a special collection of handpicked Vinyl records from almost all music genres. The listening station is where we can enjoy the music with headphones on and if you wanna use the Vinyl record then their dedicated staff will help you to have a great experience.

After a fun crate digging activity, my friends & I enjoyed the music we grew up listening to. The experience was truly mesmerizing. The need of the hour, along with good music was craft brew. I ordered my favorite, dark and strong Stout beer and my non-alcoholic friends ordered cold coffee and other drinks.

We tried the following food -

Cigarette - Cheese Cigar roll stuffed with Oregano & Jalapeno cheese.

Prawns in fresh Coconut crust & Balchao sauce - Coconut crumbed Prawns served with Chef's special Balchao sauce.

Dynamite Fish - Spicy Beer battered fish in creamy Chilli dynamite sauce.

Tandoori Chicken Mille Feuille - Smoky spiced Chicken with yogurt topped with Potato Mille Feuille.

Mini Pork Belly - Roasted Pork Belly topped with Mango Chilli Jam. The crackling skin on soft Pork belly cubes with a hint of Mango Chilli Jam was simply a match made in heaven.

For desserts, I tried their Lemon Mousse and Coffee Panna cotta. Absolutely loved their desserts and don't miss it when you visit this amazing place.

Overall my first experience at Record Room was way beyond great and would love to visit again for the love of music, good food & craft beer,  and good mood.

Lunch at Boteco Restaurante Brasileiro - Have you visited this new restaurant yet?

Boteco Restaurante Brasileiro presents a complex range of fresh flavors from Brazil by Chef Guto Souza. Brazilian food has an interesting mix of influences from around the world like Portuguese, Italian, Arab and even Japanese cuisines. 'Boteco' literally translates to neighbourhood Portuguese place for great drinks and easy conversations. All that can be experienced at this vibrant new restaurant in Ashok Nagar, App Garuda Mall.

The moment I stepped into this restaurant, I was awestruck seeing their ambiance and decor. The Brazilian wall photographs, wall tiles with the mix of sea blue, yellow, & green shades all over the restaurant was so welcoming. It immediately gives you a beautiful South American beach vibes.

Now coming to the food, I absolutely enjoyed all the dishes I tried there. Love the way they use Cassava flour for amazing breads and when at Boteco, do not miss their Churrasqueira | Mixed Charcoal Grill meat which consists of Beef tenderloin, New Zealand lamb, pork sausages, pork wrapped with bacon, Pao De Queijo | Brazilian Cheese bread, Bruschetta De Linouica | French Baguette bread topped with pork sausages, Beetroot Ravioli, and Lemon mousse :)

They have a great range of vegetarian spread and refreshingly beautiful drinks as well. Overall this place can satisfy any palate. The restaurant will be so packed on weekends and service can get bit slow for the same reason. But worth visiting for the food, ambiance and an overall experience.
