Only two more days…
You gotta try the ongoing Valencian Food
Festival – ‘La Cocina de Valencia’ at Raj Pavilion at ITC Windsor Hotel as the
Valencian spread they chose for this fest is simply incredible. I believe that the
way to any culture is with their food. Spanish food is just as beautiful as the
language. The farm fresh vegetables and fresh seafood are the highlights of
Valencian cuisine.
Recently, a few of us indulged in buffet
dinner where we couldn’t resist skipping any of the specialty dishes including
Farmer’s salad, Ham Cheese and quail eggs served with freshly made cheese
flavored Potato chips, Escalivada, Empanadillas, Seafood Paella, Savoury Churros with
Cheese Fondue, and lots and lots of festival special dishes. Chef Soni Kumari (Winner
- Chaine de Rotissuers JCR -2017, India Chapter) gave us more details on the
Valencian festival and also about some of the must-try dishes.
One must save so much space in the tummy
for their delightful desserts. My dessert platter had Crèma Catalana, Tarta de
Santiago, Miguelitos (Puff pastry with flavored pastry cream), Flan Valenciano,
Tarte de Queso (Cheesecake).

Along with the amazing Valencian food, I
love the vintage style décor and old world charm of this hotel. Thank you, dear
Simonti Majumdar, Shruti Jain, Ashika and team ITC Windsor for the great hospitality and also
for one of the best luxury dining experiences I had in Bangalore. I will surely
visit again to explore more. Thanks to my partners in crime – Neel, Monika, and
Natasha for the great company. Who said we need alcohol to get high, we surely
didn’t miss the poison on that ‘Dry day’. The Valencian spread is available
only for dinner and the fest is on till 20th April 2019.
