A few weeks ago I visited this perfect weekend getaway place for a Chef’s
Table. Located 11 Kms from the Kempegowda International Airport, Clarks Exotica Convention Resort & Spa,
a luxury resort spread over 70 acres of
the picturesque Nandi hills is a must visit place.
The resort has 151 rooms (including villas) and over a 2 L square feet of
Banquet space, sport, activities and presidential suites. The resort was
established by Mr. Ronald Colaco, an
Indian Businessman based in Dubai. Clarks Exotica Convention Resort & Spa is celebrating 10 years of
wonderful hospitality this year.
The resort is designed for people of all ages.
The beautiful Spa with multiple amenities and the indoor game area looked so inviting and interesting. When it comes
to F&B, Clarks Exotica Convention Resort & Spa has three different places to chill – Ambrosia (Buffet
& Fine dining restaurant), Illusion (Poolside bar) and Buvette (Poolside coffee shop). Chef’s table was
organized at Ambrosia and my fellow bloggers and I had a great lunch on the occasion
of Father’s Day. It was a double treat
for us.
Chef Suresh Babu, the Executive Chef at
Clarks Exotica Convention Resort & Spa, Bengaluru worked in the hospitality industry in
diverse roles and he brings to the table in-depth knowledge of the food
industry and culinary expertise. A lover of innovation, Chef Suresh likes to
experiment with varied cuisines and fusion foods, preferably with organic
products. He created some spectacular dishes and everything was so distinctive
in terms of taste and blend of ingredients.
At Ambrosia,
we were served Chef’s special appetizers, along with the buffet lunch which consisted
of soups, appetizers, salads, main course with flavored rice dishes, curries,
Indian bread and a selection of Indian and English desserts.
For appetizers,
we tried the ‘Vegetable treasure bags’, ‘Badami Murg Tikka’, ‘Khumb Sabz ki Galouti’, ‘Lebanese Lamb Chops’, ‘Celebrity
Babycorn’, ‘Fish Pollichathu’, and ‘Barfeeli
Paneer Tikka’. I absolutely loved the flavors from each dish tailored by Chef
Suresh. The best out of all was the Badami Murg, shaped like a Chicken Roulade with nuts and creamy filling. Khumb
(Mushroom) Sabz ki Galouti was simply brilliant one. Not only it just melts in
your mouth but creates a burst of flavors in the mouth. I absolutely loved this Veg Galouti and till that day I was not a fan of Veg Galouti. The
creamy and soft Barfili Paneer was like a
piece of cloud in the mouth.
Along with Buffet menu, they also have kept
two varieties of drinks (fruit based and Sharbath)
for guests. I picked a glass of chilled Rose Sharbat and it was so refreshing.
The staffs kept on refilling the drinks dispenser and there was no shortage of
these drinks.
For Main course, I tried some Sesame Crispy
Fish, Egg salad with rose petals, Corn salt and pepper, Hara Bhara Kabab, Methi
Chicken Curry, Madurai Mutton Curry, Rice with caramelized onions, and Phad
Thai Noodles with Mixed Vegetables in Fiery Basil sauce. The spread was too
good and for good food, people come from everywhere. The restaurant was so
packed with corporate people (on a weekend), and families.
For desserts,
I tried Chef’s special Paneer Jilebi
which was extremely delectable. They also had pastries and other desserts. I
tried a scoop of Blackcurrant ice cream
with a combination of Pista ice cream topped with Almond silvers and Caramel
crumbles. This was an ultimate show-stopper.

After a scrumptious lunch, for increasing our
metabolism rate the hotel staffs took us for a walk and showed the beautiful
property. My husband and I love to visit resorts in and around Bangalore and
Clarks Exotica Convention Resort & Spa has been already added to my list. They have different packages
for corporate crowd and families. The day packages start from 8K and it’s surely a perfect deal for people who want to
indulge in a relaxed day outing in a serene location. If you are not sure about
