Party till you drop - Ladies night at Loveshack, Bengaluru

My life in Bengaluru has been quite a wonderful journey. I am not a hardcore party person and whenever I party, I will enjoy it to the core. Recently I have been to Loveshack for the ladies night on an invite. Located in Inner Ring road (opposite to EGL), Domlur; Loveshack is on the 5th floor, above Mother Earth shop. This was my first visit to Loveshack and my only regret is why I didn't try this place before even though my previous office and the home were close to this place. Okay... the past is past :P

The increasing number of restaurants and pubs in Indiranagar is proportional to the apartments coming up in Bangalore. We are spoilt with choices. So when I was invited to Loveshack, I was not sure about the place. All I know was some of my friends used to party at Loveshack before. This time, I went to Loveshack with a friend of mine and we both were quite excited about their ladies night and karaoke.

Recently modernized Loveshack has got a very good ambience with separate bar counter, seating areas and a dance floor. The shabby chic style decor is pretty good and relaxing. Staffs are very attentive.

We started off with few cocktails. I had '18 till you die' which was a Vodka- Tequila based drink and a whiskey based drink called 'Lime Rick'. Both the drinks which I ordered were perfect for the evening. Coming to the food, as it was part of menu tasting, we had a set menu. While having my drink I noticed that their floor was getting crowded. People just started coming in as if there was no other party happening in that area on a Wednesday night.  But more the people, merrier your party will be. Music was on and the party was just begun; we started getting our starters one by one. I felt like DJ just read my mind and played all my favorite tracks. This is another reason I would like to go back to Loveshack again. Music was just too good.

Starters
Corn Cheese balls - The combination of cheese and corn will never fail. Panko fried cheese balls are served with a layer of tomato chutney.

Chilli Chicken - My all-time favorite Chindian dish. Cubes of chicken cooked perfectly with chili and soya sauce.

Anjal Fish Fry - Mangalore style semolina coated fish fry. Any fish lover can say no this beauty?

Lahori Murgh Kebab - This melt-in-mouth, mildly spiced chicken kebab was good especially with the green chutney. The smoked flavor from kebab will make you feel hungry for sure.

Chicken Wings - They call it Chicken wings and we call it a lollipop. In Bangalore, very few places serve good Chicken wings. I'm glad that I found this place where they serve crispy chicken coated with sauce.

Chilli Paneer - Veg version of Chili chicken, which was delicious. The quality of paneer was really good.

Mixed Vegetable Momos - Veg momos was just okay. They serve a spicy red sauce along with momos.

Chicken Momos - I liked the chicken momos they served with a spicy sauce.

Main Course
Subz Makhani with Roti

Spicy Cottage Cheese with Cous cous

Chicken Ghee roast with Roti

Goan Fish Curry with Rice

Arrabiata Pasta

The entire main course served was tasty. Subz Makhani and Chicken Ghee roast along with roti served were just too yummy. Spicy Cottage Cheese served on a bed of Cous Cous was delicious too. Arrabiata pasta and Goan Fish curry served with rice could have been better.

Desserts
Chocolate Tart

Blueberry Cheesecake

Creme Brulee

Apple Crumble

We just couldn'tt stop eating the desserts. All the desserts except the blueberry cheesecake were good. Chocolate Tart and Creme Brulee were outstanding desserts.

When all the people were partying hard, my friend and I were relishing on some delicious food. Till now the karaoke nights which I've attended were really boring ones. But at Loveshack they were showing lyrics on a big screen and along with the singer, others also could sing. First time I tried Hookah (paan flavor) and it was a lovely experience. Overall I had a really nice time there and I am sure I will party there soon again. Every Wednesdays they are having a ladies night and for the ladies first three drinks are free. Stag charges are different.

Bangalore Cocktail Week (26th Aug- 2nd Sep,2016) - First ever cocktail week in Namma Ooru!

Bangalore's first ever Bangalore Cocktail Week (BCW) happened last week. Bangalore party lovers had a great time by attending various events by BCW. Curated by Steppinout, and powered by Ola Prime, Dineout in association with Smirnoff and Ciroc, Bangalore Cocktail Week was a week-long celebration of bars, lounges, clubs and restaurants in Bangalore.

After a successful Cocktail week in Delhi and Mumbai, this one was the first ever BCW in Bangalore. All the 25+ bars participated in this festival served their signature cocktails and also conducted events like cocktail masterclass, beer masterclass, whiskey masterclass, gin masterclass by celebrity mixologists, pub crawl, and bartending competitions. Cocktail masterclass by celebrity bartenders like Jamie Walker, Andrew Quadari, and Hemant Mundkur were some of the highlights of this festival.

Last Sunday, I got an opportunity to attend celebrity mixologist, Hemant Mundkur's cocktail masterclass which held at Hard Rock Cafe, Bengaluru. A two-hour masterclass session with limited guests and the organizers, was a bit too much of fun. With few ingredients, he showed us how to make some really nice cocktails using world's no:1 classic premium Vodka; Smirnoff 21.

Cocktails created by celebrity mixologist, Hemant Mundkur -
Smirnoff Rose Mary

This one was my favorite drink from the event. Smirnoff Red No 21 with cherries and rosemary.

Smirnoff Spice Fizz

A refreshing combination of fresh basil leaves, ginger, and Smirnoff Red No 21. A perfect drink for any occasion.

Smirnoff Perk Up

The coolest drink made with Smirnoff Espresso, Caramel, Apple Juice and Chocolate sauce.

Melon Martini

A fruity combination of fresh watermelon, passion fruit, and Smirnoff Red No 21. One can't say no to this drink.

Blood Orange Spritz

This drink was made of Smirnoff No 21, blood orange, white wine and a spritz of soda.

Note: Food was not part of the cocktail masterclass :)

For each cocktail, Hemant invited guests to participate and prepare cocktails along with him. At the end of the session, he made sure that all of us got our favorite drink from the event. This time, I couldn't attend pub crawl and bartending competitions. People who attended BCW had an exhilarating time. I'm waiting for the next edition of BCW with more exciting events :)

Experience the authentic North West Frontier Cuisine with a modern twist at Kopper Kadai, Koramangala

When you travel towards a famous college locality, you expect small eateries nearby. What could be more surprising when you find a fine dining restaurant near Jyothi Nivas College, Koramangala. Guess the person, I bumped into when I entered Kopper Kadai on a working day. The person who does wonders with his hands - the celebrity Chef Akshay Nayyar. He is the man behind Kopper Kadai.

Once you enter this beautiful restaurant, the first thing which catches your attention will be on 172 hanging copper ladles which roughly symbolizes the spices used in their cooking. True to its name; the restaurant is set beautifully with handmade copper decors and a classy fine dining ambience.

I was invited for a food tasting session along with another food blogger friend of mine. After taking a couple of photos, it was time to indulge in some authentic North West frontier affair.

Menu for the evening
Drinks ~ Sherbat Paani

From the 'Sherbat Paani' menu, we had few drinks which were different in taste and refreshingly good.
Naariyal Passion Mantra - Mocktail which is made of passion fruit, mint, coconut water, and hot chili for that extra kick.
Kiwi Ambi Panna - My pick was this drink which was made of raw mango, gooseberry, and green chili. I Just loved the flavors :)

Chatmola Fatafat - A khatta meetha drink with cola, lime, and jaljeera.

Patialey Wali Lassi - This classic thick sweet and salted lassi comes in a cute milk vessel which was served on a truck.

Starters ~ Kebab ke gali se

Jorpuri Subz Galouti - Cheese patty and tawa vegetables served with chana jor.

Challi Kolmi Kebab - I will give a 5/5 rating for the presentation of this kebab, which is made with potato and crispy corn. Accompaniment for this starter was 'sarson (mustard) ki chutney'.

Ganna Chicken - One of their signature dishes made of minced chicken and skewer used is an edible sugarcane stick.

Lucknowi Dahi ki Shammi - Both vegetarians and non-vegetarians love this dahi ke kebab made of hand rolled yogurt patties with ginger, chilies, and served with slices of baby radish. This starter was presented in an upside down umbrella.

Mughal-e-Murgh Tikka - Chicken Kebabs with a royal touch and the flavors of Mughal make this kebab very exquisite.

The Royal Kebab Express - One of their signature starter. Chef's favorite 5 starters including lamb and chicken are served on an antique charcoal iron box. If you are in KK, then do not forget to try their melt-in-mouth galouti kebabs which is purely made in nawabi style.

Main Course

Mastawa - A wonderful preparation of lamb and dal in creamy consistency which is garnished with mint and caramelized onions. This dish was like Haleem, but tasted better than Haleem.

Warqi Dal e Dastan - Ancient preparation of dal, which is grandfather's signature dish.

Cooker mein Kukkad - Mildly spiced chicken gravy served in a pressure cooker. I enjoyed this delicious curry with assorted breads and chicken biryani.

Minari Chicken Biryani - I just loved the flavors from this Hyderabadi Chicken biryani. Rice coated with spices was well cooked.

Bread Tokri - Assorted bread basket which contained tandoori roti, paratha and naan. Most of the restaurant disappoint me when it comes to bread. Either it will be 'don't feel like eating' or too hard to eat. KK's bread was good in terms of quality and quantity. Overall the main course served were top-notch.

Desserts

Dilli Wali Fruit Cream - This dessert was more like a fruit custard. The taste was just okay.

Nutella Dodhalava - Oh! I loved this dessert. I don't like Nutella much, but this dessert was really yummy. When you taste, first you'll get Dodha burfi topped with pistachios and from the middle of the dessert, you'll get Nutella.
Check pls...

Chef Akshay Nayyar was busy in the kitchen but when we told the manager that we would like to meet him, within few minutes he came and spoke to us. A very young and super talented chef who creates spectacular dishes. Somewhere I read that he believes in 5D cooking i.e, taste, creativity, emotion, appeal and passion. After meeting him I realized that this is so true about him. I had a remarkable dining experience at Kopper Kadai. Within a limited budget, if I want to devour some really good North West frontier province food, then I know which place to hit first. A meal for two would be ₹1,200 (approximately) :)
