If I am visiting an ice cream place twice
in a month, then that place has to be very special. After coming to Bangalore I
reduced ice cream intake due to health issues and this routine changed after
visiting Swensen’s Koramangala outlet. This well-known international brand recently
introduced a limited edition Sundae to
their menu. Guess what? It's our very own
‘Falooda’ but with some twists. This all new ‘Crispy Crunchy Falooda’ is the
tastiest Falooda I have tried in recent time. I was lucky to be a part of this
event by Bengaluru Dessert Club.
Swensen’s outlet is located on busy streets
of Koramangala 80 Ft road, very close to National Games Village. Their ambiance is pretty decent. When it comes to
décor what I loved most about this outlet is their bright décor, a beautiful
painting on the wall, and neatly arranged takeaway
boxes.
Swensen’s is famous for their tall glass
sundaes and new ‘Crispy Crunchy Falooda’ comes in 3 variants –
Crispy Crunchy Falooda – This comes in a
tall glass with rose syrup on the bottom, topped with dry fruits, corn flakes,
saffron vermicelli, two big scoops of ice creams (saffron ice cream) and to
give a modern touch topped with whipped cream, rose-saffron syrups, cherry, rose
petal and wafer. It’s priced at ₹229 + taxes
Carnival Falooda – This falooda comes in a medium size glass with rose
syrup on the bottom, topped with dry fruits, corn flakes, saffron vermicelli, 1
big scoop and 1 half scoop of ice creams (saffron ice cream) topped with
whipped cream, rose-saffron syrups, cherry, rose petal and wafer. It’s priced
at ₹149 + taxes
Happy Falooda - This falooda is good for quantity and calorie
conscious people. It comes in a small sized glass with rose syrup on the
bottom, very few toppings and 1 scoop of ice cream (saffron ice cream) topped
with whipped cream, rose-saffron syrups, cherry, rose petal and wafer. It’s
priced at ₹99 + taxes
Falooda is Persian dessert and I love the
Persian flavors like Saffron, rose syrup and nuts in this luscious Falooda. Just
like the name says, Falooda is crispy and crunchy and you wouldn’t miss the basil
seeds. All the ingredients used are very fresh and while preparing falooda you can see how carefully they make the
Sundaes.
