Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable - Banksy
Cooking is an art, but what happens when you relish your favorite food by enjoying some real art works by a famous persona? It's a great feeling when you visit Banjara Melting Pot (BMP in short) which was once the house of maestro of Modern Art - M.F.Hussain. At BMP; the house which turned into a restaurant, you will feel the Hussain touch everywhere with his marvelous paintings.
Located in one of the busy streets of Koramangala 4th Block (near Umerkot), BMP is very easy to locate. This was my first visit to Banjara Melting Pot. Their ambience is really good with wooden furnishings and a classy fine dining setup. They have an open area dining as well. For Bangalore's changing weather, that's a good option. Another thing you will notice at the BMP will be the well dressed polite staffs.
BMP serves Indian, Pan Asian and also specialized in Coastal dishes. They serve buffet as well as a la carte. I knew that after a heavy dinner I will just go home and sleep. So my dinner started with a nice and strong cocktail, 'Screwdriver' which is nothing but Orange juice and Vodka.
Starters
Veg - Cheez aur Sabz ki Sheekh, Paneer ke Shikanje, Mushroom Galouti and Dragon Roll.
Non veg- Murg Lalwari Kebab, Reshmi Tangdi Lassoni, Lucknowi Sheekh Kebab, and Prawns Ghee Roast :)
Both veg and non veg starters were really good; especially the non veg starters were phenomenal. If Murg Lalwari Kebab in skewers which is served in a Copper pot will surprise you, then Lucknowi Sheekh Kebab and Prawns Ghee Roast will dance in your mouth. Reshmi Tangdi Lassoni was simply superb.
Main Course
Veg - Vegetable Gassi, Subzi Jalfreizi, Amritsari Dal, and Veg Biriyani
Non Veg - Rajasthani Laal Maas, Tawa Chicken, Mangalorean Gassi (Fish), and Chicken Biriyani
Overall main course was fantastic with a satisfying plate of Rajasthani Laal Maas, Mangalorean Seer Fish Gassi, Subz Jalfreizi, Indian breads and two varieties of Biriyani. Mangalorean Gassi; chunks of Seer fish cooked in a coconut milk gravy is easily the best available in the Silicon Valley.
Indian Breads
Methi Naan, Baby Butter Kulcha, and Neer Dosa - All three are my favorites. BMP known for its coastal delicacies can't fail when it comes to Neer Dosa. Light, melt-in-mouth Neer Dosa with a bowl of Seer Fish Gassi and Prawns ghee roast made me finger-licking awesome (sshhh.. I saved some Prawns Ghee roast which was served as starter, to have with Neer Dosa).
Desserts
Doodhia (Bottle guard) Halwa - Doodhia Halwa was good. If you order this you will get a perfectly cooked halwa with right amount of sweetness in it and topped with dry fruits.
I am not sure whether having a glass of Mojito will help my digestion or not. But after a scrumptious meal it was quite needed. My meal ended with a classic Lemon Mojito.

Will I go back to BMP again? Yes! Ofcourse. This is the place for a relaxed fine dining experience and I would recommend BMP to all.
