Gourmet Passport presents celebration of Indian Cuisine at Kava, Fairfield Marriott Bengaluru ORR in association with Paul John Whisky!

About last evening -

"Whisky is liquid sunshine" - George Bernard Shaw

This simple quote came into my mind when I tasted a beautiful whisky - Nirvana by Paul John at the sit-down dinner at Kava, Fairfield Bengaluru ORR curated by Gourmet Passport. Though I am not a Whisky drinker, towards the end of our dinner, I liked the drinks I've tried. They had three cocktails, out of which my favorite was 'Bold fashioned'. Paul John Whisky cocktails paired with great Indian food at Kava was a sublime experience and all thanks to Gourmet Passport team for a great evening.

A fun quiz session by Mr Heemanshu

Kava introduced their all-new dinner menu Qafila, which sets a perfect example for traditional Indian cuisine. The Executive Chef Sudhir Nair is a travel freak and from our conversation and the exceptional food I tasted, he brings the best of Indian flavors on your table.

Here is what I loved most -

Santra Chilgoza - A classic Indian Shorba made of Kashmiri Orange, pine nut, green chilli and cilantro. Trust me, this soup had kickass flavors.

Kundan Kaliya - Boneless Chicken roulade in a mix of almond paste, and spice mix.

Mahi Sarson - Fish (Indian Salmon) cooked in mustard paste and turmeric.

Alu Bhukhara Ke Kofte - Super delicious Alu Kofta with dried plum stuffing smeared in a creamy gravy. I tried this dish with Khameeri Naan.

Sarson Ka Saag - Who doesn't love this dish? The dish is made of Mustard leaves and other greens with a tempering of clarified butter, onion, mustard seeds and garlic, served with a dollop of white butter and served with hot hot Makki ki Roti.

Badenjaan - A very popular Persian inspired dish made of sliced aubergines topped with yoghurt and tomato salsa.

Kava Dal - I loved the Kava's version of Dal Makhani.
Bhagahara Khana - A simple pulao with the aroma of whole spices.

For desserts, we had Kulfi Falooda and Shahi Tukda and that simple-looking Kulfi Falooda just blew my mind. We ended the dinner with a paan shot.

A special thanks to Monica Khara and her team for being a wonderful host for the evening and also making sure that we diners had a great time.

A flop selfie attempt by me :P

Gourmet Passport is your go-to app for the best restaurant deals in your city. Currently, they have presence in Bengaluru, Delhi -NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Pune. We really missed Mr Rocky Mohan, the 'Founder of Gourmet Passport', at the event yesterday. Mr Rocky Mohan is one of the top influential people in Indian F&B industry. If you've watched MCU judge Chef Gary Mehigan's show- 'Masters of Taste', you will understand how passionate is Mr Rocky Mohan when it comes to food. Another interesting fact about Mr.Mohan is that he is the face of India's popular drink Old Monk. He is carrying the legacy which was started by his Grandfather.

Love the collectibles (Whisky stones) received from Paul John and the special spice mix from Kava <3
