A lazy weekend lunch at Rural Blues Restrobar, Sarjapur Road, Bengaluru!

PC: Ms.Nandan

Recently, I visited Rural Blues at Sarjapur Road to celebrate the grand re-launch and to check out their new menu. The moment I entered this property, I was spellbound by the magic of white and blue colors. If you are looking for a #pictureperfect, and #instafriendly place for your pictures, then head to Rural Blues. This restrobar has amazing vibes with French doors-windows, water fountains, lovely Bougainvilleas and small fish ponds. This was my first time in Rural Blues with my pals and we had a great relaxed weekend lunch there. Chef Swatantra’s magical menu will go well with Geist craft beers.

I started my lunch with Geist’s Uncle Dunkel beer. I prefer dark beer and this one was perfect for the sunny late afternoon lunch.

Here are some of the must-try dishes at Rural Blues Restrobar –

Crispy Crunchy Prawns made of Filo pastry strips coating and served with Sriracha Mayo. This was brilliantly done.

Mushroom Dumpling made of four types of Mushrooms and served with a spicy dip. These were delicate, light and delicious.

Beef Bulgogi – Beef was marinated with Sake, Mirin, Soy and Miso sauces and grilled to perfection with a sprinkle of sesame seeds. A portion of Kimchi was served along with this.

South Indian Natholi (Anchovy) fish fry – Any fish lover’s favorite food with drinks; masala coated anchovies deep fried and served with Tomato Chili Thecha.

Pork Belly – Big chunks of slow-cooked Pork Belly served with Apple Puree. Pork Belly had amazing flavors and crispiness in the outer layer and middle portion lacked the flavors.

Mutton Kakkori – A friend suggested this and Mutton Kakkori was literally melt-in-the mouth dish. I really enjoyed having this.

This time we skipped the main course as we were so full by having appetizers. A friend ordered a healthy Quinoa Salad with Shrimp and the freshness of green leaves, flavors from chickpeas, quinoa and grilled shrimps made it an amazing salad.

For desserts, we tried the Trio Crème brûlée with Coffee, Caramel, and Cinnamon variants. I polished off the Coffee one – a must try dessert when you are at Rural Blues.

The service was quick and the staffs were very polite. Away from the hustle bustle of ORR, this can be considered for a romantic dining with some live music and good food. Overall I enjoyed my first visit to this restrobar and would love to visit again.
