Bloggers Table Party by Dineout at Safe House, Bengaluru

"I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse – The Godfather"
All the famous dialogues from your favorite gangster movies will flash in your mind once you enter this gastro pub – Safe House in HSR Layout. HSR layout is slowly becoming a happening place with few interesting restaurants/cafes and neighborhood pubs. A few weeks ago I was invited to Safe House by Dineout team. Dineout always has interesting events in the city and I was sure that this will be an interesting party too.

The recently launched Safe House is located in Sector 5, near to HSR layout flyover. This is from the house of famous Andhra restaurant chain Swathi Group. They have got a pretty decent ambiance with cool paintings, bar counter, high seated chairs and a pool table. If you are not happy with the above options then pick up a variety of accessories like gangster jacket, hats, and gun and give your best pose.

We were a small group and team from Dineout also joined us for a fun-filled evening. We started our evening with a couple of cocktails and starters. I tried their famous Gangster Martini and Watermelon Basil Martini. Though everyone ordered different drinks, we tasted and vouched for the Watermelon Basil Martini. The first time the drink was perfect and second-time we got a really strong drink.

At Safe House, they serve Indian, Chinese, and Continental cuisines. Few starters like Chicken tikka, Crispy Devil’s Chicken, Thai fried Baby Corn, Crispy Noodles Paneer, and spicy mutter chaat was deliciously good. All you need is a pint of beer to savor these starters. We spend a quality time there by clicking pics, playing pool game along with our never ending conversations. Dineout team surprised us with a drinking Roulette game. This party game was exciting with 16 shots. After starters and some fun activities, we had our main course.

As the restaurant is part of Swathi Group, we didn’t want to miss their biryani. Andhra style spicy biryani was good. They also served us some Indian breads (Roti and Naan) along with Kadai chicken, Dal fry, and Veg Kholapuri. The main course served was quite good and filling. I was surprised to see no desserts on their menu and when inquired they informed us that desserts will be shortly adding to their menu. While having a conversation with staffs, they quickly ordered a dessert from Swathi restaurant, which was a bowl full of Gulab Jamuns. Somehow I didn’t like the taste of it. It was a bit disappointment for me. I am sure they will have some nice desserts in future.

When you visit Safe House make sure you ask for the spice level before ordering food. Some of the starters were spicy and for me, this was perfect for my cocktails. The consistency of few starters and cocktails was not up to our expectation and we highlighted this issue to the management. They patiently listened to us and immediately fixed it. Overall I liked this place and will definitely visit again for some quick grub and beer. All the items, including drinks and food, are decently priced and a meal for two would be approximately 1200/- (with alcohol). They also have valet parking.
