A quick review about Sona's Kodiyal, Seshadripuram

Recently when I was in other side of the town with my hubby, we thought of having lunch from Sona's Kodiyal, Seshadripuram. I would say this place is a hidden gem for South Canara delicacies. When you enter the restaurant you will see an array of snacks and other dishes on the serving counter. If you love South Canara food then surely you will get confused, thinking what to order.

We started with one plate of crispy and delicious Jeegujje bajji which is nothing but breadfruit fritters, and for the mains we orderd Kotte kadabu, crispy Medhu Vada and Ottu shavige (string hoppers). Everything was just mind blowing.

I wanted to try ragi manni, but it was not available, so settled with Kashi Halwa which was rich in taste. After finishing a scrumptious meal we had one glass of Kokum juice which was full of flavors. This drink was very refreshing in this hot climate.

Overall my experience at Sona's Kodiyal was really good with great food and total value for money. My husband was so happy to indulge in Udupi-Mangalorean food while talking to them in Tulu. The person who served us was a sweet elderly person who told us to try their special unlimited meals on Sunday which includes Neer dosa.

I bought Pathrode (a snack made of Colocasia leaves), some sweets and my favorite jackfruit pappad from there. About the ambience... Oh! common, who cares about the ambience when you get a wonderful and authentic food. They also take catering orders for parties and other functions. They have pretty good ambience but parking will be a problem as this restaurant is located in one of the busy streets of Seshadripuram (right opposite to Seshadripuram Law College). I will surely go back to this restaurant for more and more South Canara dishes.
